For those of you just joining us here at Empty Nester Miles, on Sunday I like to post an old trip report that I’ve written for another site. Today is an epic one.

In 2018, Liverpool made it to the semi-final of the UEFA Champions League. I got special dispensation from my better half to attend the home leg if 1) I could do it on points and miles and 2) I could get a ticket to the match. I managed to succeed on both counts.

I flew Lufthansa First Class on the way and Virgin Atlantic Upper Class on the way back. I also managed to squeeze in a day hiking in North Wales. It was an epic (but short) trip and I hope you enjoy the report from Flyertalk.
