In the end, thanks to the quick re-check of our bags and the quick check-in and security at the Delta One entrance in Terminal 2, we had about a half-hour to visit the Delta One Lounge at LAX. There was enough time for some breakfast at least before continuing our trip to Las Vegas.
This lounge is much smaller than the Delta One Lounge JFK, where we visited in February. Delta just doesn’t have as many international flights from LAX compared to JFK, and the domestic Delta One flights are spread throughout the day so the lounge probably doesn’t get as busy as JFK in the evenings.
We were greeted at the door and provided with a lounge overview which was a nice touch.

While it would have been nice to take a shower or sit in a massage chair, we just did not have time for that on this visit. Instead, we found a seat in the dining area and looked at the menu.

I ordered some food (my wife just got a latte) and I went over to the small buffet area where the staff was assisting people with breakfast pastries and other food.

I ordered a cinnamon bun and it was heated then brought over to us. My iced latte also arrived.

The cinnamon bun was tasty although I think they heated it a bit too much. My acai bowl arrived next.

I wasn’t that hungry after having breakfast on the flight about two hours earlier, but the fruit was fresh and the acai was very good.
I took a quick walk around the lounge and grabbed a few more pictures. There was a nice bar and a sushi bar that unfortunately didn’t open until 7am. There’s also an outdoor deck.

The bathrooms are located near the entrance and are individual restrooms.

It would have been nice to relax a bit, but the next flight to Las Vegas after ours was four hours later and we needed a nap so we headed to our gate around 7am to catch the flight. I was glad we got to see the Delta One Lounge LAX and I hope we’ll be back on our next SkyTeam international flight through LAX. Delta is also upgrading the ATL-LAX flights to Delta One so it’s possible we’ll be able to visit the lounge that way as well.
I’m going to end the trip report there as the Las Vegas trip was separate and not really relevant to the New Zealand portion of our trip. I hope you enjoyed reading about our visit to the South Island. I’ll have one more post about New Zealand generally.
