As we only booked our trip a couple of weeks out, there were limited lodging options available. Most of the nicer hotels were either sold out or ridiculously priced. Also, most of the hotels are in town and not within walking distance of the beach.
I lucked into the last available reasonably priced vacation rental when I checked VRBO. It’s a casita on multiple levels and it’s steps from the beach. It’s on a larger property where the owner stays much of the time as well in case there were any issues.
The road to the property was a bit scary as it was a mostly one-lane sandy road for about 2km. Then the path to beach was between a huge property and a barbed wire fence so I wouldn’t recommend walking there at night.

The downstairs portion of the casita consisted of a large living area/kitchenette with some nice outdoor space. There was a room air conditioner, and the owner left a space heater in case we needed it for the cooler winter nights. He also left a loaf of fresh bread which we munched on a bit the first morning.

The bathroom and toilet were just beyond this area in separate rooms accessed from the courtyard. There was a Japanese-style toilet which was a nice touch.

The bedroom was upstairs accessed from an outdoor staircase. There was a separate air-conditioner.

Finally on the roof, there was a table and chairs with a minifridge in which we found some cookies waiting for us. The views from up there were very nice with a glimpse of the ocean and the sounds of the waves.

In fact, we could hear the waves crashing on the shore from the bedroom even with the windows closed. It was a lovely way to fall asleep each night.
I took a nice walk on the beach Sunday afternoon and on Monday morning before we left, we spent several hours walking on the beach.

We were lucky to find this place and it really served our purposes. It was only about five minutes into town and another five minutes further to where my wife was taking her workshop. After the first couple of times, the dirt road wasn’t too bad to navigate. If you ever find yourself in need of a place to stay in Todos Santos, look up the Playa Concha Casita and you’ll enjoy it.
