Bom dia from Portugal! I’ll have a very detailed day by day trip report when we get back, but we’re about halfway through our anniversary trip to Portugal and it’s been great. It’s still shoulder season here, so it’s not crowded, the weather is beautiful and the people are friendly.

We’ve stayed in two beautiful hotels so far with two more to come. We started in Lisbon before renting a car and exploring the country. Today, we’re in Amarante, a small town about 45 minutes from Porto and 30 minutes from the Douro Valley. We’re headed out this morning to a tour of the valley and some wineries.

Tomorrow we will drive to Porto for a couple of days and end the trip in Sintra before flying home from Lisbon. I’ll have detailed reviews of our hotels and flights (and how I booked all of it) when we get home.
