The Chase Sapphire Preferred just raised the sign up bonus to 80,000 Ultimate Rewards Points! Spend $4,000 in 3 months to earn the points.

It’s really a great card for getting established in the Chase points universe. It comes with many benefits and has an annual fee of $95 per year. If you want to be able to maximize your points and transfer to airline partners, you need this card (or its more expensive cousin, the Chase Sapphire Reserve which has a $550 annual fee).

You can get 1.25x point value when you redeem for airfare, hotels, car rentals and cruises through the Chase Ultimate Rewards portal, or for even better value, you can transfer points to many airline and hotel programs. It also includes a $50 annual hotel credit, primary rental car insurance and no foreign transaction fees.

If you have kids who are young professionals just starting out, this is a great card to have in their wallet as it also includes 3x earning on dining, 3x travel on most online grocery purchases, and 2x earning on travel.
