While my wife was getting some work done, I left the AA Flagship Lounge to check out the nearby Capital One Lounge. I believe this was one of the first Capital One Lounges to open several years ago. I’ve reviewed the ones at JFK and LAS and the Capital One Landing at DCA and enjoyed them all so I wanted to see how the DFW version compared.
The lounge entrance is close to the Flagship Lounge in the same area of Concourse D. After I entered on the concourse level, I took the elevator up to the lounge. There was a short wait in line before I could enter.

It’s a fairly small space with a staffed bar, buffet area and a nice view of the airport out the window. Here’s the bar menu:

The lounge was really packed and I barely found a seat. I ordered a butter pecan old-fashioned, but I didn’t find it particularly good as it was pre-mixed.
Here’s some of the food on offer:

As is typical with Capital One Lounges, there was a to-go area with some prepackaged drinks, snacks and sandwiches.

I may or may not have smuggled back a couple of banana puddings to the Flagship Lounge to share with my wife as the desserts over there weren’t all that exciting.
This lounge gets a lot of positive attention on blogs and Facebook groups, but I don’t really get it. It was fine as credit card lounges go but really pales in comparison to the other Capital One locations I have visited. It was just too crowded (even with the new restrictions on guests) and poorly laid out compared to the other Capital One spaces. If you have access, give it a try anyway as maybe you will visit at a less busy hour.
