YOLO Solo Trip Part 7 – Emirates First Class Lounge Dubai Concourse B Review

First Class Lounge Concourse B

I took the airport train over to Concourse B which is a pretty good distance from A. B and C are connected, but from what I have read, its a long walk between them.

When I arrived at Concourse B, it was much busier than Concourse A, but of course, it was getting later in the morning when more flights were going to depart. I found the signs for the First Class Lounge fairly easy to follow.

The B Lounge doesn’t take up the whole floor of the concourse. The lounge floor is split between the business and first class lounges. Consequently, you can’t board your flight from the lounge. There are a few gates where it looks like there’s the possibility of boarding from the lounge level (including my gate that morning – B13), but the upstairs gate area was not staffed.

The lounge was recently renovated and looked more modern than the A lounge. There’s a nice water feature just inside the entrance.

Upon entering, the dining area is to the right. I decided to check out the dining options as I had only had the small serving of sushi so far that morning.

I was pleased to find that there were definitely more interesting dining options in B, including a made-to-order sandwich counter, bakery and a made-to-order sushi counter.

The dining area itself was quite busy, but there were plenty of available seats.

I was seated quickly and ordered chebab – Emirati pancakes, just to try something different. I also went to the sushi counter and ordered some freshly made rolls and sushi. I also got another iced Americano.

The sushi was great, but the pancakes were just OK. I didn’t finish them.

After my (second) breakfast, I took a walk around the lounge. I found the kids play area which had two full sized arcade driving games.

I may or may not have played a game of Daytona24. I moved on and saw there was a spa inside the lounge, which made it easier to access than the A lounge, although I suspect that would also make it busier. I also checked out the restrooms and showers which were all contained in the same area.

I sat near one of the large TVs where soccer highlights were playing and charged my devices. One downside of this lounge compared to the A lounge was that it had a smoking area instead of an enclosed smoking room. While I couldn’t smell it in most of the lounge, there was a smoke odor if you walked by the smoking area.

Soon it was time for me to head to my gate for my A380 flight to Bangkok. I enjoyed comparing and contrasting the two lounges. My advice to those headed to Dubai and flying First Class with some time to kill would be to use the A lounge for your relaxing time as it’s much quieter and go to the B lounge for dining as the options are more varied. Of course, you may end up arriving in one and leaving from the other so this may not make sense in your situation. Everything I’ve read about the lounge in Concourse C said to avoid it as it’s very small and doesn’t have anything you can’t find in the other two lounges on a larger scale.
