Status Run to the UK Part 12 – British Airways First Lounge T3 LHR Review

BA First Lounge T3 Champagne Bar

The BA Lounges are very close to the Cathay Lounges. To reach them, you have to walk down a very ugly hallway that looks like you’re headed into a bus station.

Unlike Cathay’s lounges, there are separate entrances for the First and Club lounges. I showed my boarding pass at the First Lounge entrance. The First Lounge is for OneWorld First Class passengers and OneWorld Emerald status holders. The Club Lounge is for OneWorld Business Class and OneWorld Sapphire status holders.

The First lounge itself is quite large and was not too busy. There are several buffets and drink areas spread out through the lounge. Seating includes tables, high tops or lounging chairs.

I actually had to show my boarding pass again at the Concorde dining area as that is only for BA and AA First Class passengers and BA Gold Guest List members.

Concorde Dining entrance is just to the right of the clock on the wall.

As I had just had lunch, I decided to sit in the lounging area of the Concorde section. I looked at the menu anyway.

I ordered a Johnnie Walker Blue on the rocks and a cheese plate, just to munch on something with the alcohol so I could make it to my gate 🙂

The view from the windows was pleasant, as was the relatively quiet noise level of the Concorde section. Unlike the Cathay lounges, the BA lounges are on the same level as the terminal and gates. These chairs were comfy. Behind them were dining tables.

The restrooms here are unisex and individual. I stopped by before I left the lounge for the long walk to my gate. They have the same hospital-industrial look as every BA lounge restroom.

Despite missing out on the Terminal 5 Concorde Room as my flight was leaving from Terminal 3, I got a taste of the Concorde life at the T3 Lounge. The food and drinks are elevated for First Class passengers from the regular Club and First Lounges.

If you have time, visit the Cathay lounge for the unique Asian food offerings, then head to the BA Lounge for a quieter experience with elevated drink options. I didn’t make it to the Qantas Lounge or the AA First Class Lounge, both of which I have heard good things about as well. Maybe next time!
