SE Asia Trip Part 25 – Transiting SGN and Le Saigonnaise Lounge International Terminal Saigon Review

After we arrived at the SGN domestic terminal, our bags came out pretty fast so I grabbed a cart to make it easier for us. We walked down the covered (but outdoor) pathway to the international terminal, just to the left of the domestic terminal. It took a few minutes to figure out which floor to exit the elevator as the signage was confusing, but eventually we found the check-in area. We found ANA all the way at the far end and got in line as they do not open until promptly three hours before the flight, which was at 19:45.

When I say they are prompt, I mean it. The clock hit 19:45, they all bowed and waved us forward.

We checked bags for both of our ANA flights all the way to JFK and received our boarding passes and lounge invitations. I had to show both of my passports as I had used my UK passport to enter Vietnam visa-free and was using my US passport for our flights home.

Exit immigration was slow and I started watching the Liverpool match on my phone via VPN as I still had some data left on my Verizon international plan. Thankfully we got through after about 20 minutes and then security was much quicker.

We followed the signs and took an elevator up to the 3rd floor and the Le Saigonnais Lounge. It was fairly empty when we arrived around 20:20, and of course Liverpool went a goal down while I was going through security.

The lounge had a decent spread, with noodle soup and lots of hot options. The liquor choices were weak though.

The lounge got progressively busier as the time for redeye flights approached. We headed toward our gate at 22:00 and waited for boarding. On the way, I donated my last 40k VND (around $1.60) to one of the strategically placed charity boxes.
