On our last night in Ho Chi Minh City, we tried a Michelin-starred restaurant, Anan. It was opened a few years ago by a Vietnamese-American chef and offers a chef’s tasting menu or a la carte menu. We decided on the chef’s tasting menu.

It was not cheap, but certainly less than you would pay for a Michelin-starred restaurant in New York, London or Tokyo for example. The cocktails were very interesting.

I’ll just provide some pictures of the courses and then give you our overall thoughts. The meal ended with a couple of desserts. We were definitely full when the meal was over.

Overall the food was excellent and lived up to the Michelin star reputation. The service was a bit unpolished. In fact, I would say that the service at Cuisine Wat Damrak in Siem Reap was actually better at 1/3 the price. I would still recommend this restaurant if you are looking for something a bit more high-end than street food in Ho Chi Minh City.
