SE Asia Trip Part 8 – Park Hyatt Siem Reap Park Executive Suite Review

Park Hyatt Siem Reap Lobby

While you can certainly stay at a much cheaper and still very nice hotel in Siem Reap, I wanted to take the opportunity to have a rare stay at a Park Hyatt as a World of Hyatt Globalist member. The hotel is located right in the center of town, close to markets and the river, and not too far from the entrance to Angkor Wat.

I booked with 15k World of Hyatt points per night (Category 4) and applied a Suite Upgrade Award. In addition to that, my research into the property showed that there are four suites on the ground floor with their own separate entrances and private plunge pools. I asked my Hyatt concierge what it would take to confirm us into one of these. The hotel told her that it would be $90 per night to confirm one of the Park Executive Suites. I decided to go ahead and confirm in advance.

When we arrived around 11am, our suite was not quite ready. The check-in formalities were done in the Living Room, the lounge area off the lobby (that is thankfully air-conditioned. We were offered drinks and some information about the property.

After 10-15 minutes of dawdling and people coming over and welcoming us, my wife was getting antsy, so we asked for some information about local craft markets and said we would return in a couple of hours when our room was ready. The concierge made us an easy to follow map of the best places to visit.

On our return, we were escorted to our suite. We were in Room 7 on the ground floor just off the adult pool area.

In the suite, we had some welcome amenities, including fruit and snacks and a nice welcome letter. The artwork in the suite was really interesting.

At some point during our stay, I checked out the main pool, which is one floor above, and the spa.

I did notice that our private plunge pool was visible from at least three rooms on the third floor and from the pool deck above us if someone was to look over the wall. Keep that in mind if you find yourself in one of these Park Executive Suites.

Breakfast at the Park Hyatt Siem Reap was a grand affair. On entry, you are asked if you would like some Khmer coffee and a fresh coconut.

Then you can select what you want from the menu.

I tried Lot Char the first day and the omelet the second day. We also sampled the French Toast. All were excellent.

There’s also a buffet with fruit, smoothies, pastries and other interesting options.

The pastries were some of the best we had on the trip. The service at the Park Hyatt was excellent from everyone we encountered at the hotel. My wife even learned how to make Lotus flower arrangements from one of the demonstrations being given during breakfast.

We checked out around 9am on the last morning. We really enjoyed our stay and our special suite at the Park Hyatt Siem Reap.

I’m glad we got a chance to stay at what is usually ranked as one of the best Park Hyatts in the world. It’s a beautiful property with amazing staff and lovely artwork throughout. If you travel to Siem Reap, I highly recommend staying here, especially if you can take advantage of Hyatt Globalist benefits.
