
Points Path is an new extension that can be downloaded to your Google Chrome browser. It pops up points and miles prices alongside the cash prices of the flights that you search for in Google Flights.
Currently, it offers results for United, American and Delta, but is planning to incorporate other programs like Flying Blue, British Airways and Aeroplan so that some popular transferable currencies can be used to determine your best options. It’s also completely free and may remain so for the foreseeable future.
Here’s an example of what the results can look like:

As you can see, it even gives you a recommendation on whether to use points or cash for each result. You can get a quick sense of the actual value of a point for each flight. It looks like Delta is the best value for these particular flights but you may decide that ($115-$5.60=$109.4/9500=)1.15 cents per mile is still not good enough to redeem your SkyMiles.
It’s always good to have new tools to use when trying to book award flights. It’s also even more important to have a better understanding of the direct value of points vs. cash. Points Path seems like a great new addition to our search options.
