For our last match of the trip, we went to see Liverpool vs. Fulham at Anfield. For this match, we were in the Main Stand in regular seats, so no executive lounges or boxes for this one. I gave my brother the full match day experience with a pre and post match pub visit as well.
We took an Uber to Taggy’s Bar, which is a beer garden inside the Hotel TIA near Anfield. We enjoyed a pre-match beverage and the musical entertainment.

We walked over to Anfield Stadium about 90 minutes before kickoff so we could check out some of the murals on the way and visit the club shop before the match.

We also saw the team coaches pass by on their way into the stadium.

After some time in the club shop, we got to our seats early just to soak up the atmosphere. One difference with watching football in the UK is that you cannot have any alcoholic beverages at your seat. You have to enjoy them in the concourse or outside the stadium.
As you may know if you follow English football, it was a crazy match. Liverpool took the lead, Fulham equalized and it was a back and forth match. Fulham was leading 3-2 with about 10 minutes to play, but Liverpool scored twice within two minutes and won 4-3.

After the match ended, I showed my brother the Hillsborough Memorial on our way out. We walked over to the Glenbuck, a local pub where my favorite Liverpool podcast, The Anfield Wrap, tapes their post-match show. I even managed to be interviewed for one of their podcasts.
We left the stadium area a couple of hours after the match ended and headed back into town. We then had a great final dinner at Bacaro, a local Italian restaurant. After that, I went back to the hotel as I had to head home early the following morning.
