After we landed in Salt Lake City, we had about a half-hour before we were due to board our flight to Atlanta and we were walking right past the SkyClub between our gates. It made sense to stop in for a coffee and bathroom break.
It was our first time through Salt Lake City airport and the new terminal is beautiful with plenty of seating at the gates, a wide concourse and some interesting looking retail outlets. The club was fairly empty as it was just before 6am on a Tuesday morning.
The breakfast options were elevated from the usual SkyClub fare with charcuterie and different bakery items.

I liked the phone booths which are popping up at new and remodeled SkyClubs. I even used one to make a business call as it was past 8am on the East Coast.

After some coffee and a snack, we headed to our gate which was just across the way and boarded a bit later than the rest of First Class. We had no issues with overhead space though.
DL 374 SLC-ATL
Scheduled: 07:00-12:40
Actual: 06:52-12:16
We were offered a pre-departure beverage by the not especially friendly flight attendant. She seemed put out that my wife sat in the window seat and I was in the aisle seat as our boarding passes said the opposite and we had pre-ordered our breakfast (as if that makes a huge difference). We pushed back a few minutes early and luckily for us, it was early enough in the day to avoid the summer storms that had wreaked havoc on Atlanta airport that week.
Not too long after takeoff, I decided to watch Guardians of the Galaxy 3 as it was a long movie that would take up most of the flight. Breakfast was served by our surly flight attendant along with drinks. I had the charcuterie plate and my wife had the chia pudding with fruit.

It definitely seemed like there was a surplus of pineapple and blueberries in the Delta catering department this morning. The breakfast was fine and despite the lack of a smile, the flight attendant did a good job getting it out and providing drink refills. She also offered a drink and snack run about midway through the flight.

We landed early and were in a Lyft on our way home within 25 minutes of reaching the gate which is pretty good for ATL.
I hope you enjoyed this report on our quick getaway to Kauai. We have some fun trips coming up which I will review on this site, including a week in Ireland next month with our youngest daughter and her boyfriend.
