What if I told you there’s a no annual fee credit card where you can earn unlimited 3% cash back on dining, entertainment, popular streaming services, and at grocery stores (excluding Walmart/Target)?
What if I also told you that this card earns 10% cash back on Uber/Uber Eats as well as a free UberOne membership ($9.99 value per month) which gets you additional discounts and promotions on Uber/Uber Eats?
What if I also told you that there’s a decent $200 sign-up bonus offer for spending just $1000 in the first three months?
Now for the best part: All of these cash back earnings can be turned directly into transferable points (including the sign-up bonus which converts to 20,000 points) that can be used to book amazing airline redemptions on some of the world’s best business and first class products.
OK, I sound like a shill here, but I really do think this card is underrated. It’s the Capital One SavorOne card. Note that the points transfer option is only available if you have a Capital One Venture or Venture X card and you can turn your earned cash back into points.
Here are a few caveats for this card:
- Don’t apply if you are under 5/24 and working on getting more Chase cards. This is a personal card and will count against your 5/24 limit.
- Don’t apply if you have only average credit. Capital One is a bit weird when it comes to card approvals, but all indications are that this card is only approved for people with excellent credit.
- I recommend you do not make this your first Capital One card. Get the Venture or Venture X first so that you have the points transfer option available.
We use Uber and Uber Eats quite a bit, plus we still often pay for our kids’ Ubers. I’ve had everyone put this card into their Uber account and the 10% cash/10x points on every transaction really add up. I’ve also got a Chase Sapphire Reserve which earns 10x points on Lyft so I can make a fair comparison between the two services and just go with the cheapest option knowing I’m earning an equivalent return with each service.
I picked up this card last year and have been very happy with the return on spend. It’s not a great sign-up bonus, but let’s say you use Uber/Uber Eats for $400 a month or $4,800 per year. That is 48,000 Capital One points per year earned from a relatively small amount of spend.
